Mama Roselie kongo gets back her lost glory, Hope and smile After 30 years down the line

Can Goat give Hope and smile back to an orphan family? Is it a good cause to help eradicate poverty to a community languishing in abject poverty? And can an orphan family gets dignity out of this great cause? Our answer stands to be YES, but can we do this on our own? No, we need God and you to help us do it.

It’s a wonderful project done by #AFCAids together with #RHM in Kenya to help eradicate Poverty to orphan families affected or infected by HIV/AIDs. Now listen to how mama Roselie can now smile and be of help to another family like her’s ( this is where dignity comes in).

Mama Roselie Ko’ngo now 89 years old, raising her two  grandchildren (Nancy and Vionah) is one of our fast beneficiaries to receive a donation of four grown goats from #AFCAids. During there times she got married to “Reach family” not in terms of big cars, good house, lots of money but  by the number cattle she had, she had lots of cows and goats which used to give her milk that she needed to maintain her big family of, her home was nicknamed “ land of Canaan” because of the large quantity of milk she used to produce.

After few years in her marriage, bad spirit of death visited her home “Bad Omen”, she started by losing her husband, then her children. She could not imagine being a life to bury her children and her husband.

She buried all her 8 sons that God gave her, as if that is not enough the Bad Omen again started with her daughters, God gave her life again to bury her daughters and her granddaughters, she was forced to sell out her cows and goats one by one as some were also dying due to drought.

“ I ask God, why are you doing this to me, why can’t you take me? Why am i burying my own children, they are the once to bury me, because that is how it should be in our culture”, Mama Roselies Said.I attempted to respond to her quiz internally “ Death has no culture, but it is because God wants to show you something”.

After all the catastrophes she faced, God Had a plans for her…..(jeremiah  29:11). Through our  livelihood project aiming to eradicate poverty, she is now happy to drink good milk with her grandchildren- milk that she used to drink 30 years ago, she is now able to have access to, just two days ago a female goat delivered a baby male goat,

mama says she wants to name it after her husband, Kong’o. She can now smile and hope seems to be restored back to her after a long years of loneliness and poverty, and so that is what we do, we endeavor to bring back hope and many smiles to the faces of such families like Roselie’s.If you would like to get involved in such a noble cause feel free to email Tanya weaver , Executive Director of American Foundation for Children with Aids.

And here comes dignity , since she will  give back four fully grown goats to another another orphan family which is struggling (three more to come), here #AFCAid nor #RHM will not give , but mama Roselie will give. “how do you feel if you are the one giving back to another needy person like you”, I ask her, and this is what she had to say “Since I was given four goats so that I can get help, I will be happy to also help a struggling grandmother just like me”,.

Is this something to be proud off? YAHOO!! We say YES AND  A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL WHO helped us bring joy and smile to mama Roselies family.
