Mama Roselie kongo gets back her lost glory, Hope and smile After 30 years down the line

Can Goat give Hope and smile back to an orphan family? Is it a good cause to help eradicate poverty to a community languishing in abject poverty? And can an orphan family gets dignity out of this great cause? Our answer stands to be YES, but can we do this on our own? No, we need God and you to help us do it.

It’s a wonderful project done by #AFCAids together with #RHM in Kenya to help eradicate Poverty to orphan families affected or infected by HIV/AIDs. Now listen to how mama Roselie can now smile and be of help to another family like her’s ( this is where dignity comes in).

Mama Roselie Ko’ngo now 89 years old, raising her two  grandchildren (Nancy and Vionah) is one of our fast beneficiaries to receive a donation of four grown goats from #AFCAids. During there times she got married to “Reach family” not in terms of big cars, good house, lots of money but  by the number cattle she had, she had lots of cows and goats which used to give her milk that she needed to maintain her big family of, her home was nicknamed “ land of Canaan” because of the large quantity of milk she used to produce.

After few years in her marriage, bad spirit of death visited her home “Bad Omen”, she started by losing her husband, then her children. She could not imagine being a life to bury her children and her husband.

She buried all her 8 sons that God gave her, as if that is not enough the Bad Omen again started with her daughters, God gave her life again to bury her daughters and her granddaughters, she was forced to sell out her cows and goats one by one as some were also dying due to drought.

“ I ask God, why are you doing this to me, why can’t you take me? Why am i burying my own children, they are the once to bury me, because that is how it should be in our culture”, Mama Roselies Said.I attempted to respond to her quiz internally “ Death has no culture, but it is because God wants to show you something”.

After all the catastrophes she faced, God Had a plans for her…..(jeremiah  29:11). Through our  livelihood project aiming to eradicate poverty, she is now happy to drink good milk with her grandchildren- milk that she used to drink 30 years ago, she is now able to have access to, just two days ago a female goat delivered a baby male goat,

mama says she wants to name it after her husband, Kong’o. She can now smile and hope seems to be restored back to her after a long years of loneliness and poverty, and so that is what we do, we endeavor to bring back hope and many smiles to the faces of such families like Roselie’s.If you would like to get involved in such a noble cause feel free to email Tanya weaver , Executive Director of American Foundation for Children with Aids.

And here comes dignity , since she will  give back four fully grown goats to another another orphan family which is struggling (three more to come), here #AFCAid nor #RHM will not give , but mama Roselie will give. “how do you feel if you are the one giving back to another needy person like you”, I ask her, and this is what she had to say “Since I was given four goats so that I can get help, I will be happy to also help a struggling grandmother just like me”,.

Is this something to be proud off? YAHOO!! We say YES AND  A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL WHO helped us bring joy and smile to mama Roselies family.

“TREE CLASSROOMS” FIGHTING ILLITERACY AND POVERTY

Posted on Leave a comment

It is said that Education is the key to success and every parent would be happy and smiling to see her/his child being tought in a good school, every kenyan parent is strungling to get the best for his child educationally. It is always promising for a Kenyan parent to see a bright future of a child when  studying in school where there is good facilities like classrooms, library for studying, enough teachers, electricity ,water amongst others.

This may not be the case in developing country,in Kenya, we are still strangling with poverty, diseases and illiteracy.

Bacho Primary school is  one of the school found in Miwani divisio/Ombeyi Location/Muhoroni Constituency in Kisumu county, the school has the population 0f 368 pupils with less teachers.the classrooms are down and gone, pupils are busy  are acquiring skills and knowledge under tree “new classroom” with two teachers on the opposite side.

My heart is moved out for these wonderful pupils .I really feel touched on this situation and need a quick solution to this.Your help and prayers will help a lot.

The Touching Story of a Girl neglected because of her looks

Posted on Leave a comment

Outreach mission has been an area of focus, and from being involved in the missions, I have encountered touching stories and real life experience on how less fortunate orphans and widows do struggle to make ends meet. God led me to a woman by the name Akinyi in a small village called kabar , who  haven’t  yet been married because of her condition which resulted from epilepsy.

Akinyi

The story of this young lady Akinyi is very touching but she has accepted her condition and opted to live with her parents at home for no man would like to marry her in her state. Marriage is an important aspect in rural women’s lives, but for Akinyi, she has given up being married.

The sad story of Akinyi starts from one fine evening when she was alone in the homestead cooking for a meal to eat since there was no one to help her in cooking. Unfortunately, her epileptic condition caught up with her in the middle and she fell on fire, she screamed so loud for help for rescue from neighbors and fortunately, some passersby heard her screams. She was however rescued but had her right eye burn so badly that she experienced a lot of pain. Her Dad, who is jobless, took her to a local hospital for treatment but she could not get better treatment and she was referred to a district hospital in Kisumu town. She was checked by a doctor and the only solution was surgery, so that the right eyes to be removed.

Her Dad could not afford 1800 dollars that was required for her operation, hope was gone and they had to come back home with some pain killers to relieve her from the pain that she was undergoing. According to her she still feels pain on her burnt eyes at night, and cannot have a comfortable sleep.
This is how Akinyi condition came to be, but thanks to God for keeping her life. Currently she is fully dependant on her jobless father and at particular days, they have to go without food. Akinyi need a great support in prayers for the provision of daily meals and clothing. Akinyi has herself lost hope in marriage since no man can accept her in her condition.

We are obliged at Restoring Hopes to care for Akinyi and give her hope and recognition in the society. We therefore need support to help less fortunate persons in the community just like Akinyi. Only 20 dollars per month can help us give care to Akinyi and restore back her lost hope. We also pray so that  God to provide her with  finance  requires for her eye surgery.

Much Thanks for those who have been with Akinyi in there hearts, thanks so much for your prayers as well.Much thanks goes for Ryan(C.E.O) of Fundhope Inc who have beed fundraising for Akinyi medication and her needs(http://fund-hope.com/campaigns/give-hope-to-akinyi-who-has-epilepsy-and-needs-an-eye-operation/).

Unfortunately Akinyi is now no longer with us,She has gone home to be with the Lord God.God Intervene last night at around 11 a.m. Akinyi is now feeling no pain and she suffers no more, rejoicing with the Lord God.May her soul R.I.P.
