Clean water misson has help the community in a great way; this is how we serve the community. Cholera, typhoid and water related diseases have been common problem in miwani area.
In this village, water that is used for drinking, cooking and other domestic purposes is typically drawn from the wells using a bucket attached to a rope, and many of the wells are partially open or lacking adequate covers, allowing dirt, waste and contaminations to drip in. This has resulted in many cases of cholera, typhoid and many water related diseases. This is a continual problem because the villagers have no knowledge and financial means to treat the wells and boreholes.

The organization has offered to treats the wells by pouring a measured amount of chlorine and WaterGaurd into it. Thus, Restoring Hopes is now able to treat about 20 wells a day and a total of 300 wells three times a month using ten dozen of chlorine/water guard.
It cost approximately US $ 300 to treat 300 wells three times a month; this includes other cost like transportation cost and materials. There has been financial challenge in this mission but we have to work beyond our means for if we do not continue with this project, then there will be more disasters.

STAY FREE FROM SEXUAL EXPOLITATION PROJECT (SFSE)
Stay free from sexual exploitation project is a sub project implemented by Restoring Hopes Community Based Organization which targets sexual exploitations red sport areas within our area of operations namely:
b) Prostitutions amongst teenagers and young women as a result of the area being the terminal of long distant truck drivers, Awasi market has been turned to be sexual exploitations area since the area attracts very many long distance truck drivers who are basically promoting commercial sexual work in this poverty stricken area hence attracting many vulnerable school going children. Restoring Hopes CBO is working with Most At Risk People (MARPS) and People Living With HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) in this area to carry out sensitizations on dangers related to risky behaviors.
2. Primitive Cultural Practices promoting Risky sexual behaviors: Some of the African community cultural practices are directly promoting sexual exploitations amongst women and girl child. In Luo community where we operate most of cultural practices are deemed fulfilled through sexual intercourse, for instance before planting season, during harvesting, initiation to adulthood, marriage, after burial ceremonies must be followed by sexual intercourse. The glorifications of sexual intercourse amongst these community leads to violations of human rights and dignity and failure to observe it leads to someone being branded ”outcast” and rejection from the society. Restoring Hopes CBO has been working with victims of such sexual exploitation by providing them with alternative homes and taking legal actions against the offenders and training the paralegal.
